This page is general information, not legal advice. If you have a specific legal question about your use of a video, ask a lawyer.
The short answer to "is it legal?"
Copyright protects specific expression: a particular piece of footage, a recording, a script, a face or a voice. It does not generally protect an idea, a hook style, a pace of cuts or a way of captioning. A clone built only from format is on safer ground than a re-upload or a lightly edited copy. We cannot promise any outcome for your use, and you remain responsible for what you publish.
1. The reference is never reused
The reference is analyzed for structure only. It never enters any generation request and is never placed in your output. Nothing from its video track or audio track is used. We do not use its music, voice or faces.
2. The reference is deleted
After analysis, we delete the uploaded file. We keep the derived structure plan (hook type, shot timing, shot roles, caption style, camera moves) and the transcript text we need to check your new script. We drop the transcript text once the new script exists.
3. A rights checkbox on every upload
You must confirm: "I own or have permission to use this reference for analysis, and I will not use the output to impersonate anyone." This applies to every link and every file. We fetch public videos only, once, for analysis, and then delete them. Private videos can't be fetched. You choose the video, and you attest to your right to use it.
4. No look-alikes and no real people
- Every actor comes from our fixed library of AI-made people (no real person's face or voice).
- The reference never goes to a generation model, so its faces cannot be copied.
- Reels built around a recognisable celebrity or creator are refused at upload, before anything is charged.
- Voices that resemble the reference speaker are blocked.
- Using your own face or voice is not offered yet.
5. Your words, not theirs
We write the script from your product facts and brand profile. We compare it with the reference transcript and flag any run of five or more identical words.
6. AI-generated label on every output
A small label is added to each video, and we include disclosure information in the file metadata. At download we remind you to switch on TikTok's, Instagram's or YouTube's own AI setting. Platform rules change, so check their current guidance.
7. Advertising claims
- An AI actor is never presented as a real customer.
- We block "doctor says" style claims, health and weight-loss promises and income promises.
- When you download a clone we remind you to mark paid posts with "#ad" or the platform's "Paid partnership" or "Sponsored" setting.
- We keep a log of the claims in each video.
8. Logos and trademarks
Third-party logos and brands are filtered out of generated shots unless you upload your own.
9. Records and takedowns
For every video we keep an audit record: a hash of the reference, the template used, the prompts sent, the models used and your rights confirmation. If someone believes a video infringes their rights, they can report it and we will review it. Write to hello@cloneviralvideos.com.
What you still need to do
- Use references you are allowed to use.
- Make only claims you can support about your product.
- Review each video before you post it.
- Follow each platform's AI disclosure rules.
